I live in NYC and I am a huge sports fan. I only pay $9.95 a month but I get SNY, YES, MSG, FSNY, XM RADIO, etc.
I just hope I can keep these channels.
Has anyone ever gotten free channels?

Last time I checked Direct TV provides a large amount of channels, different in each location.
Unless they are displaying notices in your brochure to the effect, that they are hoping you will buy an upgrade, or you see occasional advertisements while watching the channels, that you could have them if you upgrade your package, they are yours, for personal use, until they notify you otherwise.

Enjoy.

I am in Cali and I get at least some of those channels, it is just part of the basic programming as far as I know. For example DirecTV used to have quite a few music channels and then one day I noticed that they had switched to XM radio music channels..
