I have heard that writing down your goals gives a greater chance of accomplishing them than if you do not. If you have found a good system for doing this please help me. If you have any links or books you can recomend on the topic I will appreciate it.
Thank you

G'day brwnidjkm,

Thank you for your question.

The best way is to write them down then look at them each day to focus your attention on them. Make them detailed goals so you can visualise it. Make them in the present tense and rewrite them. Develop a path to achieve them such as I will lose weight by going on a diet and developing an exercise plan.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Seasons greetings

It basically involves three steps. Step #1: Write down the goal that you want to achieve in as much detail as possible. The more specific, the better. In order to motivate yourself even more, you must set a deadline which you must achieve your goal. Step #2: Draw up a plan upon which you will go about achieving your goal. Again, the more detailed and specific your plan, the better it is. Step #3: Execute the plan and refine it as you go along.

Writing down your goals does increase your chance of accomplishing them but there's a catch. You need to break down the goal into steps, it needs to be stated as if it is happening in the present, it needs to be clearly defined - not vague, and it needs a deadline. Then you need to re-read your goal(s) 3 times a day every day until you achieve it (imprinting it on your brain).

Example: I am bringing my grade in Math up to an "A" from a "B" by the end of the next six weeks grading period by studying 30 minutes every day and going to tutorials twice a week.

Hope that helps!

I agree with Hopefulmom, however I would like to add that it's not going to do any good writing down your goals, even written in present tense if you never read them...
Therefore, you should have multiple copies of the goals you set, and you should periodically remind yourself of your goals...
When you wake up, when you are stuck in traffic, and when you're about to go to sleep.
Hope this helps,
David

I have read that to put a picture of your goals in a scrape book, and take action each day towards your goals. I have read 2 very good books Instant confience and Change your life in 7 days, both by Paul McKenna, both books come with a cd, excellent value for money. find details on his web site, or even ebay.
good luck.

Write down your goals. Then think out steps to get to those goals and do something with consistent effort, so small steps often.

Good luck

Start out small. Think local not global. If you think about the big picture you get overwelmed. Run for president of the local Yacht Club before moving on to running for president of the USA

Well, what you could do is write them down, then do them.
