Your teach is biased against Communism. Remind her of George Foster Kennan who came up with idea of International Embargos and "The Policy of Containment". That means that during the cold war, any country that became communist would be suppressed by the US which would force other countries to not trade with the communist country. This was the standard US foreign policy.

When communist countries could not trade, they would lose wealthy, become poor and desperate. The US Capitalism would win out.

Now with globalization, many communist countries are thriving-- why? Because Globalization and Embargos don't mix (unless the US is trying to steal something like oil from Iraq, and then you have to go to war to complete the mission).

Globalization means that America must trade with cold war enemies like China or the US will lose access to profits. Hence, there is no embargo.

Meantime, the Chinese Yen is rising like crazy because of US resources going there. American corporations benefit from cheap labor. But the US dollars are making China rich while the US dollar in the world market is dropping. Too much of America's wealth is reaching other countries in terms of jobs, natural resources and even recycleable garbage to China which is making these former communist enemies rich. China is LOL at America because now they are even investing billions in Africa from the money they made from America. America should be taking advantage of this opportunity, but America's leaders are too ignorant. (That venture was in the New York Times)

China is now becoming the Superpower, Cuba's economy has improved and even North Korea was able to flip a finger at Bush when it tested a bomb recently. Bush reps ran over there and gave them money too.

While these incompetent schemes are being carried out by the Bush Administration, thinking Americans are worried about the future of the US. Brainwashed Bush supporters are unaware and believe in propaganda.
