You can check it under the TCP/IP settings in the Network Connections, but the way I like it is to use the Command prompt utility - ipconfig.exe

For a fully detailed report, you can use ipconfig /all

Also, for your public address, you can check it either by a traceroute if you know how to use it, or go to a website (i would suggest http://www.leader.ru/secure/who.html) which shows you all the details you'd want.

Usually addresses assigned are dynamic, so it will constantly change unless you pay for static. If you are behind a router doing NAT, your PC will always have a 192.168.x.x address. The public address is on the net side of the router. You can log on to your router and view its net status to see the address.

You can also go to sites like http://www.dslreports.com and look in their tools section. It reads the source IP address (you) and displays it.

If you're connected directly to the internet (no router) just open a command prompt and type IPCONFIG and press Enter.

If you're behind a firewall or router, point your browser at http://www.whatsmyip.net to see what your public IP is.
