Someone recently said I was "long-waisted" and I want to know what it means. Any websites with more info would be appreciated.

It means that your height is in your torso. I am 5'10, with a 31'inseam. I am long-waisted. I wear higher-waisted pants that fall like an inch below my belly button, that are trouser style, to make my legs look longer and balance me out. And I do not look like an old lady in pants that are a little higher. The best pants are the Christy fit from Victorias secret. They make my legs look super long.

I think it tends to mean that your body proportions are a little top heavy in length compared to the length of your legs. I am personally short waisted, long legs and short body. Anything but average proportions makes it hard to shop for clothes. You may not be 'long waisted' but looked that way in the clothes you were wearing.

it refers to the fact that your torso appears to be long in relation to your leg length

it is a dressmaking term

people can also be shortwaisted (like me)

It is neither negative or positive, just an observation on body type...

The distance between the bottom of your breasts and the top of your hips is longer than most people.
