Wow. I don't know about you all but that does irk you a little. I mean at least it irks me a tiny bit but I don't "trip" off of it.

Ok I see where the men are coming from and the women. I just look at it from my perspective and haven't looked at it from the perspective most of you have stated.

Why is it so hard for women to raise it when they know men live in the household?

Enough of this sexist garbage. Strong, independent women are capable of checking for themselves and raising or lowering the toilet seat on their own. It seems women don't ever want to touch the seat but demand that men do. Why is this? Courteous people of both genders should leave the seat however best suits the entire household and not come unglued if it isn't always the way they want it to be. Life is too short to make such an issue out of this simple task.

You could look at it that way and get really frustrated. However, do you always put the toilet ring up so the men in your house don't have to? Maybe the men in your house get tired of having to put the seat up after you put it down.

It's a matter of perspective.

It is because of ones attitude to it that men and women leave it up.
I always put the seat down, but I wasnt like that until I met a Kung Fu Grand Master who said to me, " Why do you leave the seat of your toilet up ? When there is so much bad energy coming from inside the bowl ? "What he said made more sense than all the female complaints I had heard until then.
True!!! Who really enjoys looking into a toilet bowl.
As a male stands to peeee, why not put a sign inside the lid saying I dont want to see where you left your waste..CLOSE THE LID

Very good question. I explain to my husband all the time that the natural position for the toilet seat is down. I mean it IS used in that position more than the other. I always use it down, and so does he 1/2 the time!

Eh, it's no big deal. My husband leaves the toilet seat up, and it doesn't bother me. I'm a grown girl, I can put my own toilet seat down. It certainly isn't anything to get upset over.

I have learned from living in a home full of males that if I want to save myself frustration over little stuff that I need to train myself to turn on the bathroom light in the middle of the night .

I would think you would be thankful they lift it up and why don't women reciprocate and put it up after they use it for the men of the household or is that unfair to ask?

Ok, I'm a woman and I look at it from the man's P.O.V. Why don't women put the seat up after going to the bathroom? :)
