Not all of Africa only the sub-saharan parts. As for the rest - pretty much.

That's a complex question. I think it depends on who's text book you read. English print history tends to relate it like pretty much as you phrased it. However, in other coutries they see it a little differently.
For example, in college I studied Chinese children's textbooks, and they view European attempts at expansionism as pretty fleeting, which I agree with. However, Chinese texts are guilty of the same fallacy that ours are. They paint a picture of them taking over everything, which they did in a way.
So, simple answer, no. Europeans did not conquere America, Oceania and Africa, though they tried. Africa is doing fine without them, same for Oceania, and America was dominated less by Europeans and more by European desease.
A great book on just this question is Jared Diamond "Guns, Germs and Steel". You'd like it.
Hope this helps,

Actually while Europeans were hid ding in caves and wearing stinky animal skins there were Mexicans And Peruvians living and building structures that man could only credit to extraterrestrials because of their complexity. Some times being prejudice comes from being under privileged, uneducated, and being an under achiever.....KECK
