The idea is to get you to buy Vista. Does Windows3.1 work, yes, perfectly. Does Windows95, work, yes perfectly, Does Windows 98,98SE work, yes perfectly. Does Windows ME work, well sorta, but yes it does. Does Windows NT,Windows2000 work, perfectly. Does Windows XP work, never really did, but it functions.
Now if I am Microsoft, and I want you to buy the latest, most secure, OS in the WORLD! Maybe a service patch or an upgrade might convince you that your stable OS is no longer any good.
Now Steve Blamer kicks back and watches the $ roll in.
I got rid of that piece of junk. IE7 is more Spyware than it is User Friendly.
Read the EULA, it has changed, again.
But be sure and stay up to date, and that Novel Linux that Microsoft bought, they are still saying Linux is inferior to Windows Server 2003. Lemee see its 2006-7 now. hrmmmm
It took Microsoft 15 years to make XP, 5years later they almost have an Upgraded System, but its still in development.
Am I useing windows now, yes, why? becuase 97% of the Home PCs in the world use Windows. Windows on Drive F:, Linux on Drive C: BeOS on Drive G, Ubuntu on Drive (1).
My wind0ze days are numbered.

IE7 might throw just an initial overhead when you run a new window of it, you have to be careful with the total number of tabs you open, IE7 is a bit faster than IE6 the key is how much memory you're using or which sites you're browsing, sites with big images and videos always imposed a problem !, FireFox should be an alternative for you to keep around for speed even if it would take up a little bit more memory.

First off. let me say: I downloaded IE7 beta and upgraded to each new version to the full version now, and have not had any trouble with it. If your computer is slow, it is not the fault of IE 7. There is some other issue at hand. If it is new, it is under warranty. Call the manufacturer and get it sorted out.
If you are slow only when you are online, turn off the Anti-phishing filter and see if that is the problem. Click Tools, Phishing filter , and click Turn off.

Yes, i also upgraded to ie7 and my pc has slowed down and it has many errors now in the internet explorer and shuts down the window. Although i like the new explorer i may go back to the old version until they get the bugs worked out of 7.

Part of IE7 is the anti-phishing feature. It checks a website against a known database of phishing sites (updated daily at microsoft) BEFORE you are allowed to visit the site. This will slow you down. You can turn it off in internet options in the tools button.
Regardless of the 1,000 people that will tell you that IE7 is junk and to go back to IE6 - DON'T.

You are not the only one. If it hadn't been for me having firefox It would have been a real mess one night. I finally went in and removed the IE7. Looked on the net and found a lot of people were doing the same thing, lots of complaints.

My husband downloaded IE7 without checking with me first, and it sucks. I have high-speed cable internet, a brand new processor that's over 3 gig, and over 1 gig of RAM, and it took ten full minutes to load a web page. Phishing feature or no phishing feature, if I wanted my computer to run that damn slowly, I would go back to dial-up and a Pentium 1. I went back to IE6, and it has been fine ever since.

This is why I am staying away from the IE7 "upgrade" if you can call it that. Sounds more like an abortion to me.

Everyone I know who downloaded IE7 had a problem with it, including me. It is best to uninstall it if you can or restore your PC prior to IE7 download. This version is not ready yet, and they should notify us that we may have problems.
