a scientific approach to this question in favor of either answers would be greatly appreciated.yes science and god can exist if you try hard enough to fit them together. I'm not in favor of either one.

This is like the chicken and the egg question! Who would believe in God if humans didn't exist? If you believe in creationism, how would humans exist if God did not exist? if you believe that human evolved from neanderthals who evolved from mutated monkeys/apes, then you are free to believe that humans created "God," just like ancient Greece created "Gods," to help explain the universe. If only humans believe in God and if humans did not believe in God, would God exist? Doesn't God only exist because of the continued belief in him? Then if humans did not exist, God would no longer exist. This could be the metaphysical conclusion. Or if God exists objectively outside of human thought, which is highly unlikely given the modern scientific discoveries of evolution and Big Bang, then it is possible that neither made the other.

Just look at how badly we destroy our world, lives, others, etc. We are a self-destructive species. We can't even create and raise our kids without messing them up. Besides, the "Big Bang Theory" just raises more questions (as does evolution). I certainly know we didn't come from bacteria or something... then who created the bacteria? If we needed God to explain death, then why are there so many religions out there who don't require a god to help them get to heaven (because they don't have a heaven or hell & believe in different levels of being)?

God made humans.

God as a driving spirit definitely may have existed before but the concept of "GOD" as we know it today is definitely one brought about by Man - Or there won't be so many divergent religions....

Did God make man ? Or is it evolution? I would vote for the latter because though we do see scientific evidence of evolution / mutation / creation / destruction -- or linear levels of them -The creation theory is so far a mostly historically recent judeo -christian phenomenon.

Well first of all science and God do not need to try HARD ENOUGH to be one. They are one in the same. God made the things that made science.

I would argue that God made humans.

Since I'm surrounded by humans, and god only seems to exist in peoples heads, I'd have to say that humans made up god.

Man came from the evolution of the cell through bacteria. It took billions of years. As mans brain evolved into higher learning capabilities, man invented god in order to explain how humans came to be.

I think something made humans...maybe not a God, but I don't believe the whole Big Bang and that's that theory.
