It saddens me deeply that people are so ignorant when answering questions. People can be so hateful towards other people, and it makes me wonder if they think they are different from animals, because they can get up and use the internet? I believe this network was created to spread knowledge and understanding, but the ignorance I read here everyday scares me. It shows to me that the human condition is in perpetual struggle and without hope.
When people share answers here they reveal a lot about their character, their intelligence, their family upringing, and whatever makes them who they are. My advice to everyone is to show balance, and caution when answering questions. It seems that us humans are losing the realisation of Universal Enlightment...and the enemy? Our friends, our family, our teachers, our goverment...an enemy within that spreads faster than disease...Ignorance...we must not let that happen, we should not let that happen.
Please share your thoughts.

As a matter of fact, we are animals. We just happen to be the most advanced on the planet. I think that we have a pretty high average intelligence for a species on this planet. The problem with YA is you have to sort through all the bull poo to get to the gems. And if you don't know how to sort bull poo, your gonna get poopy. Luckily, most of the people making a real positive difference in this world don't have the time to spend answering trivial questions for the random. They are too busy taking specific positive action. One day I hope to be one of them.
I hope that gives you some hope.

My thoughts are: if you don't stand up for what you believe, someone will stomp on you and take what you cherish away. You can have all the sugary outlook on life that you want, but when you find insulting and ignorant questions it is your right to counter in kind.
This especially applies to people belittling your religion, country, culture, sexual orientation with leading and derogatory questions. I ask some myself, but am willing to take the heat of other's opinions and apologize when I'm wrong.
If you don't like the viciousness of this particular part of Q&A, and cannot avoid the "hot spots" here, then I respectfully suggest that you move on to another area, less likely to upset your sensabilities, perhaps "cooking and foods".
This is a legitmate forum to express upset with society that we have in no other area of our lives. Political correctness has made it impossible to get real news through the media on many issues, and this is one place that people can say what they think. It isn't truly freedom of speech, as the Q&A censorship Nazi's are at work, but I have to admit, they aren't nearly as oppressive as they COULD be if we were living in one of the suppressed societies of the world. Many parts of the world ban the open Internet and many sites are blocked by the governments, but happy that we live in a free society, even if it is only in this tiny bit of cyber space. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE FOLLOWING POEM.

I was reading today that 1/3 of the graduating class of 2006 dropped out of high school. Hanging around Universities and people with college diplomas can really make you terrified when you meet someone with average or below average ability to communicate.
I haven't figured out the remedy for this problem, but then again who am I to say it's a problem? Perhaps those of us who have the gifts of communication are rare and wonderful. Everyone else in the world has other skills that are valuable too. Sometimes people have reached their capacity for learning given their hardship and setbacks in life. I don't value them any less for that. I've learned to be patient with it.

I agree with the spirit of your Question, but I think this forum is also valuable in that people can come here and be brutally honest; something that can be difficult to do around the table at dinnertime. It's a place where one can come and get a vast array of answers and opinions on any given subject without worrying that it will be whitewashed.
Politeness has its place in society, but a forum such as this cuts through the BS and gives people REAL information and feedback, not the politically biased disinformation that you find in the mainstream media.
God bless.
PS of course there are dumb questions and dumb answers...it's easy to get past them and pick out ones that have something original and though-provoking to offer.

I agree, although perhaps I should point out that I doubt many of the people here who act so malicious and/or ignorant seem that way in real life. While it is a sign of intelligence if someone can actually form coherent sentences on the internet, it's not at all an indicator of someone's worth.
But generally, yes, I agree with you. :)

Life can be tough and sometimes stressful , how ever I need balance in my life . That is why when I come to this site I come with the hopes of chilling out and having fun ,Sometimes people on here need serious answers to serious questions . That is when we as a community come to their aid and try to help .
If there are people or "Q"'s that offend me I go on to the next .
The way I see it is that we all have choices in life , I choose to be happy !

You were ignorant to believe humans were all high minded intelligent life forms. What you ask for and get on yahoo is a cross section of opinions...free opinions, and you get what you pay for.
