Before I get my period I usually go through a yeast infection or uti. Then I get my period and it's really heavy. I always get blood clots, i think, and I can see some tissues from my inside on the toilet paper. It's been five days now and I still have blood clots. Is this normal?

You'd be surprised. I went for one month and thought I'd need a blood transfusion if it did not stop. I went to the emergency room. They looked at me like I was crazy. It just happens some times. It is miserable I grant you that and if it does keep on and on I'd definitely check it out. They may give you hormone pills to help you stop, and then when you quit them you start again.....they forget to tell you that little tidbit of information. I hope it will stop for you soon and not continue every month. It makes you dread the days as they roll around, wondering. I feel for you.

no- it's not normal. talk with your doctor- they may wanna take you off any type of birth control you're on- that could play into it or put you on a type of medicine to help with the clotting. If you think something's wrong- don't let them tell you different though, it's your body, you know what's normal for you and what isn't.

Blood clots are normal, as long as their no bigger than a few inches long and a few inches thick. Small ones are fine though and normal.

Sounds like you have PCOS. I would go see my Primary Care Physician. She/He will put you on birth control to regulate your period, and minimize the symptoms/effects.
