My friend has NO sex drive at ALL. She's to the point where she'll to anything to have one. I told her i'd ask on here, to get a couple ideas. If it helps any, she's 18 and had a baby 7 months ago. She thinks she doesn't have a sex drive b/c she had a kid. She also said that before she had a kid and WHILE she was pregnant, her sex drive was amazing and could go 6 times a night. Now, she barely does it once a month. Is there any kind of pill she can take? Anything you can buy at a drug store? Any ideas on what to do? Thanks.

She probably needs a nap! Not a pill. Nature designed the hormone cycle to supress a woman's sex drive for the first few years, so that our babies' can get all the breastmilk and carrying they need before another baby comes along. Your friend should be thankful for her body giving clear signals that it needs a break and she shouldn't make anymore babies for a while!

I bet she's tired from taking care of a new baby all day and then probably still has to get up once or twice a night to change diapers and feed the baby. Sounds like she needs a night out or two so she can relax! Also, maybe deep down she doesn't want to have sex because she's afraid she'll get pregnant again and doesn't want another one so soon.

Taking care of a baby can wipe your sex drive away. You have all these other things that have to be done that make you more tired and not care so much for it. When you finally get some down time, sometimes you just want to sit or take a nap. Sex is a work out and sometimes you are honestly too tired, or know how tired you are going to be when you are done. I have 4 kids, and "private time", honestly, does not even cross my mind. That is sad and I know it.

This is normal & it can take up to 2 years to return. My OB says that most womans sex drive is based upon the body saying "lets have a baby" since she has one & her body must not be ready for another it has not returned.

She's worn out from taking care of a baby. Does baby's Daddy help her with chores?

Can you help her a little bit?

Her drive will come back later. No drugs or anything to help.

No there is no magic pill she can take...this is one of those things that comes with motherhood. Not much she CAN do at this point since she's already been pregnant and given birth, in otherwords it's too late. After you've had a baby your homones are forever changed. You body goes into "parent" mode. That's why it's important for teens NOT to become sexually active too soon...Just tell her "Welcome to MOMMYHOOD"

Is it possible that the sex drive she used to have was only in service so far as it was needed for a pregnancy?

If so, perhaps when she's ready for another child, it will return.

I don;t know what she can try over the counter, but she could try and talk to her ob/gyn. Tis is normal after having a baby, her body needs to heal first.

She's exhausted and likely concerned that she will get pregnant again. While she was pregnant her hormones were raging and she obviously didn't have to worry about getting pregnant cause she already was. If she truly is concerned have her talk to her doctor. If you are the one who is concerned, give her some support.
