lol.
You know, its not just a YA thing. In real life, esp. at work, people always ask me questions about black people, or more specifically, black women. I don't get mad though, id much, much, rather people come to me, then believe all the bogus stereotypes out there. And it always amazes me how many people really do believe the stereotypes, so im always glad to dispel those. : )
On YA though, i think some people are trying to spread hate, but most people geniunely want to know something.

Spread hate there are probably only like 12 people out there that are actually curious, because I mean black people are not the only race out there to be curious about yet all these ridiculous questions

There is no question of spreading hate against black people. I agree with you that people are just curious. A woman driving a car in Afghanistan is a news for media. Similarly people are more curious about Islam, Middle East , Iran and North Korea. Instead of knowing facts, they start making comments.

Some people are so isolated from other cultures that they have no other way of obtaining this information. Hopefully it is just curiosity. There are lots of other sites to go to for the hate stuff and to feel vanilla all the time!

Some folks really are honestly misinformed, and it's good that they come here and get educated, rather than go through life believing dumb racist myths about African Americans.
And there are a few ignorant racist klansmen and nazis, who are just here to spread hate!

Too much misinformation, too few people teach their children. Ignorance is not a good thing, and people don't like not knowing things. Also, there are some idiots out here causing trouble.

You're on the "Cultures and Groups" section. Why wouldn't there be questions about culture, race, ethnicity, etc.? (Especially since race and ethnicity are usually major sources that contribute to the formation of a culture.)

Cuz noblody wants to ask a black person in person, they're afraid of getting beat up.
This answer wasn't a joke, it's why i asked a question on yahoo answers about black people instead of asking some kid at school.
