I have a zip up hoodie that is pink that I would like to be white. What do you think is the best way to go about this? Do I just submerge it in bleach? How long would it take? Any reverse effects?

You can try washing it in bleach, but with today's fabric's and dye's you probably won't get it white unless it was white to begin with... Remember that bleach is very hard on fabric and will damage the fibers if you do it too much too often. So the life of your hoodie will be shorter. It would probably be easier to buy a new white one...Good luck.
