If a child, commits an adult crime, and I don't mean a 9 year old, I am talking the 15+ age group then yes. By this age, a kid knows right and wrong or they should and should be held accountable.

I am speaking of violent crimes, I think these kids also need special treatment as prisoners, they should not be with younger kids where they can teach more evil or take advantage of the kids and they should not be with adults, where they would be exposed toa worse criminal element or they would be taken advantage of.

Maybe, there should be another crime classification, not juvenile but not adult for the serious offender who is under 18.

Yes I do. But only if the crime is murder, or something horiffic that even a child should no better than to do.

About ten years ago, in Europe, two little boys (I think they were eight or nine, maybe even ten), kidnapped a two year old from the mall, took him on a two mile walk, tortured him (I won't even get into details...it was that bad), and then threw his body (alive) onto train tracks to cover up the crime. The two year old victim got killed by the train.

THose boys were charged as adults, and were recently let out of jail because, their lawyers said they should have never been tried as adults. Their names have been change and have moved to an undisclosed loction because many people want them dead.

Those two little boys (although they are so little anymore), should have been thrown in jail for life, or put to death. Their crime was one of the worst...ever.

No there not even grown up in body noway are they ready for life.I think the gov makes it 18 so they have more tax payers or boys and girls to go to war or something. But a person is not really grown up until they are between 25-30.

No! I've always wondered why they can be treated like adults after doing something bad/crime but nobody wants to treat them like adults when they're being good. We don't let 14 yr olds drive, live alone, go to clubs, go to war, or travel without an adult but we as a society think it's OK to lock them up with dangerous long time criminals? I think that is crazy. It's an outright contradiction.

I dont think they should. Youth carrys with it inherent vulnerabilities one of which is making unwise decisions, falling to peer pressure, trying to avoid the pain and suffering of family problems, and striving to define your own identity in relation to the world. At 18, they are still children.. I think the cut off point would be 21.

''with the soiciety so obsessed with crimes.........they think it is right to try minors as an adult.......''

no.. minors should not be tried as an adult. It is against the rights of the children. It is believed that children is the responsibility of the parents. If we try them as an adult, we might as well give them the rights to drink alcohol, to have license, to marry, run as public officials.....
