With so much money involved, do you think some of these games are fixed? There have been incidencts where players and/or referees have been bribed at the college level and in other countries -- but you never here about fixed games in the US.

I find it hard to believe some of the late comebacks I have seen or spreads overcome in the last seconds while online betting is going on.

Not just in football.I've thought the same thing for some basketball and baseball as well as in NASCAR this past year.

not for a long time. the reason you hear about college and overseas games getting fixed is that there isn't the same amount of money involved that there is here. players make so much money that it would be really hard to come up with a package that they would take. the very amount of money from tv and other stuff means that it would be much harder to bribe a player. refs in other countries have been bribed, but you don't even hear about players getting bribed. also, the way that players get to the pros is by being the most talented AND most competitive. all of them care a lot about what they do, none of them want to lose. and the other players can tell when someone isn't giving a full effort, and then they lose respect among their true peers. and if a college or overseas player wanted to play professionally here, if there were even rumors about that player, that would really hurt their prospects
