No. People are not born "gay". People can get molested as a young child by a friend or relative or have a bad relationship with one or both parents or be labeled as "gay" or experience peer pressure to become "gay". But no one is born "gay".
Think about this. If being "gay" is a genetic trait then "gay" people would quickly make themselves extict since 2 gay people together don't produce a child together. The 2 of them eventually die and if there were a "gay gene" that gene would die with them.

For the most part children are born gay. My bestfriends son is gay and we knew from a very young age that he was....I also have a friend who after being sexually abused by a man at a young age is so repulsed by the opposite sex. I think it depends on the person and circumstances.......for the most part definetly born that way. I don't think that it is anything that a person would want to choose......who would want to be hated, ridiculed, tortured?

I dont think so....Its a preference...Just like straight people are attracted to the opposite sex, its the same with people who are gay...I date outside of my race, its a preference I have, and have had for almost 10 years. So does that mean I was born to date outside of my race? dont think so...does that mean people who enjoy chocolate ice cream over vanilla are born that way? What about people who would rather drive and SUV than a car? These are all choices that are made later in life.

I dont think so, but its not something to oversimplify
first , we live in a fallen world and the original creation was marred and broken by sin. So it would not be an argument to justify it as part of the creative intent. as we all struggle with a sin cursed world that is to some extent broken and in need of redemption
second, there are influences that can go back to a very young age and environment additionally there is a high incident of gays who were sexually abused as children or young people.... Christians should at least be respectful and merciful in these things. Since these influences can go back as far as someone can remember for all practical purpose it probably feels like someone was made that way Women may have been abused by men and led to their current sexual preferences
Third, In the case of alcohol and drugs some people are also more genetically prone to some types of additions. It would not justify drug and alcohol abuse. so a tendency to a behavior whether genetic or by early environment might be a good reason to appear for mercy and consideration but not a good reason to justify something as right.
Fourth, it is usually males that are claimed genetically made that way, less often these studies claim the same for women
in any case... not an issue to oversimplify and an area to be merciful and respectful about. It is also not the unforgivable sin and sexual sin and sexual struggles are all over the place with all sorts of people and we all could used tons of that amazing grace to get by whoever we are

Yes. Theres gay animals out in nature, and their brain isnt as complex as ours to make choices like that. So theres obviously gay people being born aswell. But since our brain is more complex, we can choose to live a straight life, but youd still find your same sex more attractive.
And there are probably still some straight people who "turn gay" because they find gay sex more pleasureable

No one really knows. I think that some people are born gay but others...well the things that happen to them (enviroment) causes them to become gay. Maybe they had those tendencies in the first place. Who can say? Only God can truely know the answer to this question.

I don't care what anyone says, but, you are not born gay. It is experiences in people's lives and they choose to be gay or not and it is environmental not inborn. Think of it this way, in the bible it says its a sin if a man lays with another man and they shouldn't and if God's the creator of everyone why would he make someone born gay, it doesn't make sense. Also, in the bible always talks about a man and woman being together and it was a man and woman that started the whole creation cycle and that it wasn't good for a man to be alone, so, God created a woman from a man's rib. He didn't create 2 men to be together or 2 women to be together. No matter what, no one can ever convince me that they were ever born gay, because that is simply not true.

I can't answer for everyone, but I definitely was born gay.
If you ask the opposite question - "are most people born straight" what do you think the answer will be?

It would seem that there is something in the genes which makes people lean a certain way. Environment probably has a lot to do with the people who are more borderline, but some are definitely born with the inclination.
And God doesn't make mistakes, all you all Fundamentalists.

I believe it has more to do with environment, experiences and mostly our inborn sinful nature. I am a Christian. We are all born with a sin nature. Everyone has area's in their lives that they struggle with. Some with drugs or alcohol, some with greed, some with pride some with sexual problems. Our only salvation is Jesus Christ. He came for all and loves us all as we are.
Are drug addicts born with a propensity to take drugs? Are boastful people born with pride. The answer is yes and no. We are born with a sinful nature, but our upbringing can sway to be one way or another. People are not born gay. We all have a choice. Mostly know again, Jesus loves us and can give salvation to all. God doesn't look at us as gay or straight but as people who need Him. We all desparately need Him. He saves all who call on His name. Call on Him.
