Great Question and thank you for participating. As an example and to help make it easier to understand, the owner of a company may want to monitor all of the computers in the office to make sure that the employees are working and not spending the day playing online games at his expense. There are, of course, many different situations and reasons behind the need for monitoring. If I can help further, plz let me know. Larry Radio Shack 01-9590
