GM cars and trucks with electric door locks have a speed sensor that automatically locks all the doors when you reach a certain speed. When you stop and remove the ignition key the doors will unlock. If no one is in the driver's seat they are not supposed to lock the doors, so if you forget and leave the key in the ignition, you can't lock the driver's door with the electric switch on the door. There may a problem with the switch in the driver's seat that tells the locks not to lock you out.

MINE ARE POWERED AND DO THE SAME THING.
LIKE LAST YEAR WHEN I WENT TO WARM MY CAR I KNOW I DIDNT LOCK MY DOOR AND NEEDLESS TO SAY MY CAR WAS RUNNING AND NO EXTRA KEY TO GET IN WITH MY HUSBAND ARGUED WITH ME FOR TWO DAYS AND IT HAPPENED TO HIM I LAUGHED AT HIM KNOWING IT WASNT FUNNY .
DUDE THEIRS EITHER A SHORT OR A FUSE I TOOK MY CHEVY LUMINA TO THE DEALER AND SPENT $100.00 FOR THEM TO TELL ME IT WAS A FUSE.
