pop is actually a regional term. In virginia it's Soda. Some people just call all soft drinks "Coke" too.

I call it soda, but hey I know a lot of people who call it pop (mostly in the midwest). Um, I guess we could, but not all food makes noise. What would you call an orange?

I call it coke... it doesn't matter if it's not coca cola. It's always "coke". Even when it's Sprite, or Dr. Pepper...
