02 Sensor Rust out from downpipe? Could it cause Rough Idle? Hard start?

Hey my mom car, the 02 sensor rust out from the downpipe on a 1993 nissan quest qxe . it could cause the car to have rough idle ? also i think i have a exhaust manifold leak too? Also it hard to start , have to pump on the gas a little ? could their be a fuel probelm? fuel filter ? or fuel injection probelm?

i own a repair shop,,and yes the 0-2 sensor will give it a real rough idle,,and there could be a issue with the fuel system causing it to be hard to start,,what you need to do is take it by any auto zone store ,and have them scan it for you,its free,and it will tell you what all is wrong with it,,it might not fully diagnose the fuel system ,but it will tell you what all sensors are bad on it,and this will give you a real good starting point on it,i do this 6 days a week for a living,so i have gotten pretty familiar with these systems,,just have it checked before you spend any money on it,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

Replace the downpipe and the sensor. Thats probably the source of the leak and it will cause the car to run rough.

o2 can cause rough idle, but poor start no, the system is in open loop untill the engine is running.Check your tune up(plugs wires etc).It also wounldn't hurt to change the fuel filter either.
