The material will be presented to you and you just rehearse it. If you were really hosting it, you'd know that!
If you're really hosting and you're just asking about the nerves part, you must be one of the good ones who's not relying on alcohol or prescription drugs to calm down, so just be nervous and be OK with it. Seeing a celbrity a little nervous is very endearing. I especially love it if he/she cracks up in the middle of a skit. It's so real. We love seeing the human side that's not performing too.

Gonna bypass with John Travolta. particularly confident i have seen Jack Nicholson ad Deborah Winger on the tutor...besides the very shown truth that it woulda been years in the past, and the memory doesn't paintings as well because it used to!

Arrive on the 20th to work on your monologue with the writers while they work on the sketches. By Wednsday you need to be ready to learn your lines. Thursday is script day. The show is hashed out and people begin gin rehearsing. Friday is walk through day and then Saturday is dress rehearsal and final editing. Saturday night is live. If you are not ready by then it is too late. Oops.

be funny. if all else fails, make fun of the government, it's easy and usually gets some good laughs. don't drink too much water right before 'cause you dont wanna hafta pee in the middle of the show, but not so little that you collapse. if you're really hosting that means that your probably already at least semi-famous, so just keep doin what your doin and don't worry too much about it
