I think it depends on who you ask and what they are tracking-Celine Dion might be the winner (yuck) because of her own album sells, plus international and soundtrack (Titanic) plus the downloads of everyone who "Drove All Night" in a Chrysler.
Mariah cant sing-she just picks great songs with catchy lyrics to sell albums but that is a gift too-just ask others who arent popular. Her sex appeal is definetely an asset too and she uses it to her advantage. Fly Like a Bird is oversung but its a great song.
Whitney can sing but hasnt had a good album in years but everytime she records it sells-music from the preachers wife is still selling off the chain her version of Joy to the World with the mass choir is phenomenal.
Which is better-and who has sold the most records? Again depends on who you ask - I would guess at this time that its Mariah because Whitney hasnt done anything to promote herself and get new music out. Her last album was good but she didnt do anything with it asn sales were lackluster. Glitter was Mariahs downfall in more ways than one but she came back and if Whitney comes back Mariah wont stand a chance and the record will be reversed quickly.
