I'm currently on the fourth book (Wizard and Glass....rereading it to refresh my memory), and I was wondering if anyone out there has read the whole series, and if it was all that it was cracked up to be?

Also, does anyone have any other reading suggestions (not romance please)?

Yes I have read the whole series. I loved the first four books, especially Wizard and Glass. The last three were not quite as good in my opinion. Don't get me wrong-- there were parts that I enjoyed in all three, but there were also some parts that I did not like. Some of the plot choices seemed cheesy to me and I had some major problems with the last book, especially the last few chapters. But if you have read the first four books, you have to read these too. Stephen King is so talented that of course there are going to be some amazing parts. It's just that I think he got a little lazy or impatient to get done with the series and didn't do as well as he could have.

If you like this Series you would love Phillip Pullman's Trilogy called "His dark Materials". Most bookstores put it in the childrens section, but believe me, this book is way more adult than Harry Potter. It is a beautiful series, and in my opinion, a must read for fantasy lovers.

Read the whole thing. It's Stephen King so there are a few times where the story bogs down a bit but overall the suspense just builds and builds. Excellent series. I hated the ending at first but have grown to like it and see it as the only way it could have really ended.

I've read the whole series, I love it. I was disappointed in the ending, but I kinda figured it would be like that. There are lots of clues in the previous novels.

Read Gone For Good by Harlan Coben. It's not anything like Stephen King, but it got better and better all the way to the end. I really enjoyed that.

I haven't finished the whole series, but I just started the seventh book. So far I think it's amazing. The first book was just okay. The 2nd - 4th were really good and I thought the fifth and sixth were brilliant. The seventh book is brilliant so far as well. My mother has read the whole series and says that as a whole it's fantastic.
