I just completed nursing school and passed my state boards. I started a new job. Any advice?

Remember that you won't become "effective" for at least 6 months-- so give yourself a break or three.
Learn from the old hands-- learn everything from their experience you can. Book work is a fine base. The best nurses learn how to apply the book work, which takes experience.
If you earned a RN license-- learn from the aides and LPN/LVNs-- they work hard too and have learned many skills and much wisdom.
Watch that staff doesn't "walk over you" because you are new and eager-- it's a tough call tho.
Listen to the "war stories" from those old hands-- there is much to learn in those stories.
You will learn the rest of your days-- be proactive for all educational opportunities your facility offers-- even tho it's "old information--" there is always something new to learn.

Don't buy cheap shoes.... your feet are your living.
