It might be because you have too little RAM on your computer. 6 or 7 at one time can usually lag a lot if you have half a gig of ram. If you linksys wireless have strong connection? It can be that too.
So to fix it you might have to purchase more RAM. I recommend buying at least 2. To see how much RAM you have on your current computer click My Computer, Right Click, and click properties. Somewhere near the end it should say ### of RAM.

It could be a lot of things. It would help if you provided a little more info. Are you running Windows XP or something else? Did it start all of a sudden or has it done it since new? Did something change about the time it started, like loading new drivers or software.
When a PC comes into our shop with this problem it is viruses or malware 90% of the time. Do you have an anti-virus program and is it up to date? There are free virus scans on the internet. Download Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware and see if they can find any malware to remove.
It can also be a hardware problem, but I would start with the software first.

Simple fix, buy more ram. Buy at least 256mb on top of what you have. This will cost around $40-60 depending on your computer, how much ram, ect. Just do a google on PC RAM to help find what kind of ram you will need, each motherboard uses a different type.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
