Depends. If you are over weight, you should focus on doing some jogging on a treadmill and some exercises, then start working on the weight lifting equipment. The trend then changes as you go thinner.... less weight loss and burning, and more muscle building! Run less and lift more weight.
I think it would be a better idea if you get some books and read more about it, could give you a life time experience!
