As someone who has had her fair share of first dates through life...my recommendation would be to be yourself, but if yourself is not a gentleman, then you should try that first. Go to some place public so there is no sexual tension on the first date. Don't try to get a first kiss unless you are really picking up some kind of signal from her, you don't want to be too forward, but do try to hold her hand (you don't want to seem like a wimp either). And do as some other answers have suggested, offer to pay her way in what ever you decide to do, open doors, etc. And by all means listen to what she has to say. Don't ask questions just to be talking, ask questions you would really like to hear an answer for and then listen to her, make her feel like what she has to say is important to you. Whatever you do, do not try to be something you're not, don't make yourself seem bigger than life, or exaggerate, or lie about things about you or things you have done. One lie always leads to another and the next thing you know you forget what lies you have told, then you're caught, and usually embarrassed. It's fine to show up with a simple gift such as a flower, not flowerS,she'll think you're expecting something from her if you are too elaborate in gift giving right off the bat. Just remember it's her first date with you as well so don't hog the conversation, let her get a chance to ask you questions about you too, and best advise about answering her questions is to keep your answers short and honest. Don't carry on about yourself too much but don't act like you're trying to hide anything either. Now that I've totally confused you with all the bull...most important thing... pay close attention.. have a great time!! Laugh a lot, humor is the best form of communication on a first date, but careful do not mistake humor for stupidity. Smile at her and look her in the eye from time to time. Sometimes the first thing a girl notices about a guy is his eyes. Ok, I think that's all I have for you. Best of luck to you and your date. I'm sure you will both have a great time and will hopefully have another date, which will go a lot smoother than the first i promise. You will do fine, after all you had enough thoughtfulness to ask about it before you went on the date, that means a great deal, it's obviously important to you to impress her and make sure she has a good time, so that sounds like a pretty decent guy. Happy Dating!!

An awesome first date, Be sweet, pay, hold doors, act like you want her to like you, like you want her attention. Ask her questions about her, talk about yourself when she askes. Flowers are always great, and teddy bears,

Take her to the movies, or go out to dinner at some elegant place.
