Star Trek, simply because of the ideas used in that show, and then look at how some of those ideas are becoming a reality. Such as the international space station, in 2020 NASA plans on using an upgraded launch pad from 39B for faster rockets. Years ago I heard about scientists trying to make forcefields by combining matter and anti-matter, which didn't work out at all, but, they are working on a so far successful cloaking device.
I like Star Wars for the ideas it perceives, but the reality is that it will always be a fantasy world, and nothing as good as Star Trek.

Star Wars, because Star Trek isn't even a well developed story and the characters have no interesting characteristics.

First of all are you talking about the original star trek? The original was ground breaking but the other 3 shows were just the same stuff recycled. Just like the original star wars trilogy. It had characters that you could relate to. The new prequel trilogy was just kind of like "okay what does this have to do with the other movies?" But I liked star wars the 1st. trilogy better because I liked the space shots. And the Enterprise was always breaking down.

I don't think you can actually say that any sci-fi or fantasy franchise is "better" or "worse" than any other. They're simply two science fictions targetted to slightly different audiences.
The Star Wars movies basically appeal to people's emotions. There are brave heroes, diabolical villains, and lots of action and romance. It's thrilling stuff.
Star Trek, on the other hand, appeals to the intellectual crowd. There is more involvement with the varying cultures of alien worlds and more emphasis on the general why's and how's of the universe.
Basically, Star Wars is for people who want to feel something, Star Trek is for people who want to think about things.
I, personally, go for them both.

i think Star Trek had more pressures to be imaginative than Star Wars.
Both were well imagined.
While Star Wars was a better technical masterpiece, Star Trek was consistant week after week with imagination. And i think imagination is the harder of the two.
I vote Star Trek

Obviously, Star Trek was a better TV show (because there is no Star Wars TV show). But, Star Wars is a better movie franchise.
