India clamped down on the export of antique cars out of their country about 30 years ago because many of the rare Classics originally bought by the upper class were being scarfed up by US collectors thereby voiding India of its heritage. Getting it to the States is not the problem - it's getting it out of India that is the problem, almost impossible. If you really want to do it, you're going to have to hire a reputable export broker in India to get it out. He may have ways of doing it depending on the car.

Yes you can import a car that old. You need to look for shipping companies that handle this. From Europe its like 1000.00. But the problem is whether you can register it. It still has to meet safety requirements, cars of that era may need things like the glass replaced and reinforcements in the doors. You will have to check with your DMV.
