I have recently purchased something very unique online. The seller states that he may or may not have it to me before Christmas because the item is out of stock. If you were in the same position as me, would you return the item if you received it after Christmas or would you still give it as a present?

If it is sold online there is most likley 100 other sites that sell the same item(unless you are looking for a PS3. Find another site, have them price match it, and buy it from them.

I would find a different Christmas gift for that person to be safe. If the ordered item arrives on time, give it too. Or, you can save that special item for a New Year or Valentine. or birthday gift.

I agree with Charlie. Also I think it is worth the wait if it is very unique . I think it's good to tell yourself better late than never. It's the thought that counts.

I would still give it as a gift. I would simply tell the recipent that the gift will unfortunatly be late, but worth the wait:)
