Garlic contains a substace known as ALLICIN and another substance S-ALLYL CYSTEINE a sulfur containing compound which is not only vascodiolating(expands the blood vessels) garlic is also immune enhancing and very good for the blood pressure. Garlic is also rich in GERMANIUM an anti-oxidant mineral used by athletes for endurance and has been studied by the Japanese for over 30 years for it's anti-cancer properties. Incidentally AGED garlic extract is the only form of garlic that was consistently used in all the double blind studies. Those studies were also done by the Japanese(The Wakanaga Corporation)back in the 80s. Garlic is also good for expelling parasites but all of these benefits of Garlic are technically lost by about 75%when you overcook Garlic. Garlic is also helpful in lowering blood pressure when combined with other Nutritional Supplements like CoQ-10 and Potassium. To get these results however takes several months of consistent usage and if you are on ACE Inhibitors or COUMADIN you want to check with your Doctor before eating garlic because it'll make your Blood too thin. I hope this was helpful.

Garlic is a natural blood thinner. If you are trying to improve circulation, then make sure to exercise or do range of motion exercises to improve your blood flow to the extremities. Heat for 15 minutes will dialate the blood vessels.

Hope this helps
