There is an NBA, an NFL, and a channel devoted to hockey (Versus) as well as golf and soccer...it would be nice to see classic baseball games, player biographies, as well as live broadcasts of key matchups that you won't see anywhere else.

I don't think in general it would fly. I don't thing the ratings for the ESPN nationally televised games warrant a channel. Like someone above said the NFL channel with Thursday games and game replays may work given each team only plays once a week. Thus those desperate for a football fix or those like myself that don't live in the city of the team they follow are willing to what condensed versions of the games and or Thursday Night games just to fill the gaps.

Baseball is played almost every day of the season. In most cases people barely have time to watch games of their own team since there are 162 of them let alone pay attention to other teams.

I can't see one working out for them. The NFL with all its might is already having trouble selling its station to many cable networks.

MLB is the plan for a MLB channel for 2009, bu the plans were pushed back because of legal stuff. MLB said they're not in a hurry because they really don't need it like the NFL, because NFL teams only play once a week so they have the rest of the week where they're fans are left looking for more. Meanwhile baseball is everyday so fans aren't left wanting for more. Besides alot of teams like Yankees and Mets already have their own channels and it wouldn't make sense for a football team to have a channel for their own since they're only gonna have 16 games a year. Besides more and more baseball teams are getting their own channels.

I think they should definitely have an MLB Channel, because they have an NFL Network which is a great success. The NHL channel is for stupid Canadians that want to see their country's only achievement, HOCKEY! If they are gunna make a MLB Channel they should definitely make it quick!!!

I have been wondering this myself for awhile. I contacted my sattelite provider and they said they havnt heard anything. The closest I've gotten is MLB Extra Innings in which they show all major league games. Also, on XM sattelite radio they have a MLB channel in which they discuss all of these things, but without a TV. I would love to see something like this come along
