Luke 2:1-20

AND

Matthew 2:1-12

Tiffany, up above, is somewhat correct about Christmas traditions. She is correct in that nowhere in the Bible does it say that there were three wise men. No where does it say that angels sing. No where does it say when Jesus was actually born...He probably was born in the spring time--not December. Jesus probably was not born in a stable made of wood, like we always think, but more probably a cave. However, the Biblical account is accurate. What the Bible DOES say is all true and happened the way it said. Over the centuries we have added a lot of traditions to the celebration of Christmas that were added to the Biblical account.

Its not in there. In fact, most of the Christmas story was made up. I'm not saying this to start trouble. I'm a Christian and I've read through the Gospels several times. I'm just saying the BIble doesn't state this. Matt. 1:18-2:23 tells about Jesus' birth and youth. There is mention of "maji" in chapter 2, but it never says 3 kings. Mark skips the whole thing. Luke gives lots of background info. that the other Gospels don't touch (chaps 1-2). John skips the background info. as well.

Happy reading!
