Ive been on the depo 4 a yr, ive had 5 shots n gained 25pds so im pretty sure the depo is how i got fat. I really want off the depo, maybe go on the pill, ive heard of girls gettin the pill, usin em correctly & condoms n still getting preg. Just how likely is that tho, has it happened to ne of u? The depo has made me fatter, moody, stressed, loss of wanting to have sex. Is the fact that having no period y u get fat off it? Anyway im looking into using the pill n condoms, ne advice????

i hate birth control! i loved the patch until i had to go to the doctor to have my body checked for blood clots! it was expensive, too! i ]'ve been using condoms for 2 years now and so fat I've had good luck. I know you hear people saying that condoms aren't 100% effective, but I bet the small percentage of failures are those that break. They just don't wanna say that out loud or something. I've never even met anyone who got pregnant while using condoms that didn't break!

Talk to your doctor about an IUD.
The pill isn't a horrible choice, but you can get pregnant if you miss a dose, or if you get sick and are vomiting or have to take anti-biotics. If you miss a dose, or get sick your doctor will recommend using condoms as back-up for the rest of the month, which kind of defeats the purpose a bit. (The pill is a poor choice if you smoke.) I know a person who used condoms properly for years and got pregnant when a condom broke, which is a slight risk no matter how careful you are. (Of course you also lose a lot of sensation with condoms.) I have heard only bad things about depo shots.

You'll have to excuse me I am 36 weeks pregnant and having contractions right now...so don't talk about being fat and moody... I was ony depo also in betweem this pregnancy and my 1st...Which, would make me be on it for... 4 yrs...ya... I didn't gain anything...and never had problems with the depo shot... maybe you're just fat and bitchy....I mean sure ya let's blame our weight on the shot..You get fat bc you eat too much...25 lbs...isn't much weight...you should lose it fast... I actually lost weight while on the shot...anywho...you can get pregnant one the pill, the shot, the patch, anything...even if you use a condom as well....That's why mostly all birth controls are not completely 100% affective...even getting your tubes tied is not 100%

I loved the pill. I was on it for 5 years. It worked great, up until I got pregnant. The chances are very low but it can happen. I was still on the pill when I got pregnant, but my boyfriend and I don't use condoms. So make sure you use condoms too if you don't want a baby :) But know that it is still possible. Anything can happen. Other than the pregnancy, the pill did not make me gain weight or anything. Goodluck :)

I have 4 brothers
all 5 of us are the result of birth control not working
Depo is scary but if you've had 5 shots
seems like any possible side affects
asside from the weight gain
would have happened by now
trust me
you can lose the weight
much less stress than daily pills
