Ive got a DVD player, and a CD burner on my laptop. i was trying to burn an entire season of a show onto these Fujifilm DVD+R 4.7 GB DVDs.
well since i dont have a DVD burner on my laptop it wont let me burn onto them. i really want to be able to get these shows onto a CD or something and not just have to delete them after how long it took to download.
Any help? is there a program i can download that allows me to burn onto DVDs?
or is there a CD that is as big as 4.7 gb and i wont have to put it onto a million different CDs?

So is looking into getting an external DVD player a good idea?
the files are DivX, and they will still play on a DVD player?

If you want to burn DVD's, guess what? You need a DVD Burner.
You can get software that will re-compress your video to be a VCD, but it won't look as good as the original. Do some searching online and you'll find tons.

Well to answer you question the amount of data that can be written to a DVD is diffrent from that of a CD. A CD memory is more or less messured more so in time. But the Max amount of data that can go on a CD is 700MB, vs. a DVD is much much more as you said 4.7GB. Now you can burn data to a CD, some players like Windows media and Real Player can burn smaller video files.Unfortunetly you won't find a CD that contain as much information as a DVD.

you have 3 possible options:
option1:
Check if your DVD player can play MPEG4 streams (it will tell that in the front of the device), if so, you are in luck, just burn one CD with those divx files in it and try the DVD player out to see how good it can handle the files. (they usually work perfect, without any kind of previous convertion)
option 2:
Supposing your DVD player can't play MPEG4 streams, you would just be able to see those divx by converting them to one of the following CD or DVD formats:
VCD: similar to VHS tape, can be burnt into an ordinary CD
SVCD: much better quality, but will take more space, also can be burnt into an ordinary CD.
DVD video: uhmm, of course. but you'll need to get that DVD recorder
Option 3:
Almost like option 2, but it consists of just transforming the avi files to mpeg2 files and put them on a CD, try it out, many DVD players today will just show the CD contents in a windows explorer fashion way and will allow to open jpg files or mpeg movies. Just polish your remote controller.
Hope this helps...

You can put it on a video player such as an iPod, but you can't burn dvds without a dvd burner. You could email the files to someone who has one but you'd have to compress them first.

Actually.... Some DVD players will play VCD's which will allow you to burn some of your videos as VCD's. You will only be able to put a episode per cd tho. Good Luck! You can just burn them as normal cd's Two good links for this are http://www.videohelp.com/vcd and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_CD
Dont listen to the peeps that say u cant, YOU CAN. They just never have used VCD... if you go here http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Divx+to+VCD there are alot of articles on how its done step by step. Good luck!

Bring your computer to a computer store and have them remove the CD burner and replace it with a DVD burner.

you can only be able to watch them on a regular dvd (via t.v.) if you have a dvd burner put in. if you burn them to a regular cd, you will only be able to watch them on another computer.
