set the video to record the programme at the correct time OR do you just put the video into LP(longplay) mode and press record just b4 you leave the house...

Neither I have tivo but if i had to chose i would tape it on long play because sometimes the times for shows and stuff get goofy if something special airs or something!

i have a pvr so i do that all the time when i went away this weekend i did that so i could watch the ringer. i love doing that cuase now i get to see all kinds of movies i would have otherwise missed

I set my dvr to start a minute before the show and end a minute after the show ends.

Umm, I would use timer recording. Why waste all that tape or space?
