I think it should just be left alone and whether its alright or not is really relevant. Is having blue eyes alright or not? Its just there and we have to accept the fact. Gay people dont really harm anyone in the end of the day, and if some people dissaprove our way of life and orientation then they are more than welcome NOT to follow it and pratice it. I cant see the reason they chase us all the time trying to tell us that what we are is wrong and try to change us. Religion maybe? well, its the 2006.....

Yes it's alright, you have the right to be yourself (if you are gay) however is it acceptable? That depends on the person. I'm accepting of others being gay but that doesn't mean everyone is.

Yes, I think being gay is very acceptable. I have a sister who is gay. And I work with, or am friends with scores of gays. All very nice people. They are just trying to live their lives the same as any other human being wants to, by being happy in their relationship, and live in harmony. How could anyone fault anybody for wanting what is right for them? You can't.......Not even the liberals.....To be totally honest with you, I don't think the Federal Government should put any time whatsoever into making new laws against how gays conduct their daily lives, as long as they do it in the privacy of their own home. They ONLY spend time on that stuff, because the liberals are determined to have the rest of us live exactly how they want us to. I say, let them shove it up their noses! And I had begun to think that the puritans had all died off too, shame on me. As for me, I say "do whatever it is that you do" brother!!!!!

Being gay is acceptable because I don't have an attraction for women. I've always had an attraction for males around my own age and I can't help who I fall in love with. I have struggled with being gay and I shouldn't never had to struggle with it just because society wasn't accepting. It's natural. I just had to learn that I had to accept myself and live for me.

It should be as alright and acceptable as being straight. But our culture is not yet evolved far enough yet for true Tolerance.

But soon, I hope ..

Ummmm, look at the name of the board you asked this question on... are you really serious?

If it isn't, then most everyone here has a real problem, don't we?

We are BORN GLBT, and contrary to Jim Dobson, Pat Robertson, Fred Phelps and the rest of the right wing lunatics, it isn't a choice, anymore than is being born straight.

What isn't acceptable is to preach hate, intolerance and ignorance in the name of a book.

Being gay is about as alright as being left-handed or having hazel eyes or being born with a large penis.

Being gay is a biological state of being, not an affliction or ethical conundrum.

Both, because being gay is just defining who you are attracted to. Not accepting someone who is gay is as silly as shunning a woman who likes hairy men just because you don't.

I'm straight and I think that it is perfectly acceptable. Why shouldn't it be? It's just a sexual preference. Gays, straights, whatever. It's just love!

I wish people would be more understanding of that but unfortunately I don't think they ever will be.

Acceptable because if you find true love in someone then you should chase it no matter of their gender. Some people say there was adam and eve not adam and steve but its bull sh** men can't have babies which is why there was eve. Everybody is free to do whatever they want.
