I'm serious... I just did a little exploration and don't know if what I'm feeling is normal. It seems to me there is a lump the size of a golf ball about 1 to 1 1/2 inches inside my rectum. It does not hurt, I have no pain or bleeding and no other abnormal symptoms. I am female, so it is not my prostate but in a slightly lower area.

I never heard of anyone doing a rectal self-exam. Sounds like trying to read the bumper stick on your car while driving. Go to a doctor!

What's disturbing is that you are doing internal rectal exams at your age...that's unnecessary unless you have pain during bowel movements, in which case, one would want to know what is going on. I say have your OB/GYN take a look, especially if you begin to notice blood in your stool, or the spot grows.

It's probably your tail bone or a turd. Consult your doctor if it really worries you.
