I have lots of secrets about other people, and i keep them secret or it could cause one hell of a lot of trouble!. There is no way that i would start blabbing about who has said what about who, and who has done this or that, and who has had an affair with whom. I think about others feelings and how much it will hurt people and cause them stress etc if i let out all the secrets. Some people say "well, they have a right to know", but i don't agree. A secret is a secret unless it is a life threatening situation. I wish people would be more thoughtfull before letting the cat out of the bag and think of the consequences regarding others.

I think that everybody really have secrets, either something which they would not like to tell about themselves - or something which a close friend has told them.
In the first case one should minimise the negative secrets of her/his life, either by regarding them as everyday issues which can happen to everybody or by having forgiving by God/other people/herself/himself. The less secrets one has, the easier life turns to be.
Secrets of close friends are the only real secrets. One has just to carry them and help her/his friend by this way. No deviation from this guideline.
Last but not least: one may have also "good" secrets: something which belongs only to her/him and would be disturbed if discussed in publicity. Some fanny memories from childhood, some fantasies....

Everybody has secrets except for the people of the world who wants to expose their life story to the world. I believe that people have secrets because they want to hide or escape from who they are, what they went through, the way they were bought up, and where they come from.
I believe that in order for people not to have secrets they have to embrace them and realize that these things were either wrong or right, learn from these things & break the cycle, and pass your knowledge on to anybody they notice going through the same experiences.

I would imagine that most people have secrets, things we hide from others about what we have done or what we think and feel. Could be mainly because we like to keep some part of ourselves private, and also don't want to hurt anyone, betray anyone, and so on.

Deep inside the heart , about 5 to 10% of its capacity is filled with thoughts, that we are are unable to share with the others. These , I would consider them as real secrets. We find it difficult to keep it that way and constantly we are loking for outlets to bring them out. Sometimes , some of these deepest thoughts we share with total strangers , on the plane or train or bus and feel relieved.
We all have these hidden thoughts or secrets because half of them are self condemning thoughts about some of our mistakes , judgement of others. The other half are thoughts that we feel the others would redicule and mock at us.
Believe me, a person at 60 shared his thought of his pain for 30 years when he lost all of his lustrous , black hair and became bald. That affected him through out.

Erm, a secret is just something you haven't told anyone.
It doesn't neccesarily have to be a "bad" or "dark" secret, it can be the most inane thing you can imagine, but no-one knows about it.
I went and filled my car up with gas today. There I've told you a secret because I've not told anyone else about it.

It is not natural to put all beliefs, thoughts, and feelings on the table for anyone to see. They would have to earn rights through trust. Trust dissolves secrets.

We have secrets because we don't believe other people would like/love us if they knew certain things about us, so we hide those things
