These kinds of questions lead us to the fact that the nature of the universe is very counter-intuitive, our three dimensional brains are not capable of truly understanding the true nature of things. However, current measurements suggest that if you were in a space ship and traveled in one direction forever, you would never reach the "end" of the universe because the universe does not curve back on itself. Before we had this data, some people believed that the universe curved back on itself and thus if you were in the spaceship and went one direction you would eventually end up back where you started. Theorists currently believe that the universe contains 9 dimensions, mind-bending stuff.

Yes, I do believe that the universe goes on forever. I believe this really is a world without an end, just like 'Gloria Patri' says:
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
World without end. Amen, Amen.

the universe has always been there and will always be
nothing created the universe. to understand this look at the circle.. it has no beggining it has no end .. it has 0 vertices but yet it has 0 sides, in order for there to be a side there has to be a verticy.. but there isnt.. yet a circle can still be proven.
so if i told you to draw a picture of a shape with no vertices and no sides. you would draw a circle... which shows how something comes from nothing which explains how the universe was never there but always there at the same time.
but then again , who can tell u that there only excists one universe?
