are people aware of the riots in france because of the government and the youths? do you think its still safe to go to paris?

if you are hitting the "typical" tourist spots - you'll be fine.

the paris slums were always bad...even back in the late 80's. what happened recently was about as bad as i've seen there...but it has mostly died down. winter and all...it' no fun to riot when it's cold and rainy.

The riots are now over from some months so there is nothing to worry about. And it is not because there once have been riots in a city that the city will always be dangerous. Otherwise France wouldn't still be the most touristic country in the world and Paris the most visited city.

I think those riots were over about a year ago. It's pretty much as safe as it has ever been to travel to Paris, no more and no less.

There are no riots at the moment in Paris it is as safe as any other capital city

France is very quiet, don't be worry ... these riots spent during last November (2005) near Paris ... all is calm now ...
