No. This is what you call being "opinionated". And it is your right to hate anyone you want for whatever reason, it's entirely up to you.

Yes, don't be an A S S H O L E.
it's not right to talk crap & hate fat people, just because they are "fat". What is wrong with you two? a person's weight does not completely describe their inside/characteristics. Put yourself in their shoes. If you were big & fat, would you want someone out there hating on you & judging you like your a loser who can't put down Twinkies & HO-HO's or Ding Dong's? You don't even know these people to even say or judge that they are lazy & have zero self control. Your not friends with them or live with them to even prove such a thing, so don't go making judgements towards anyone. Fat or skinny. Don't be like your grandfather, no wonder he talks about people, he's WW2 Vet., and NO ONE respects Vets these days. Vets have a reputation of not being acknowledged, that's why the majority of them are disabled & end up homeless. No wonder he's grumpy. He's brought you up the wrong way. He's superficial & somewhat racist. It's good to work hard but being in shape is not mandatory in this world. It's up to a person if they want that. It's not up to you to judge them for that. Yes, you are both wrong for feeling this way. You have no respect for people. And yes, everyone deserves respect.

Well yeah as a matter of fact you are wrong. Of course you are entitled to your own beliefs. My mother is a heavy person and for your information..she is not lazy!! She has always worked really hard, both at her job and in the home. Also, I am not a fat person and I eat, by far, MORE than my mother does.
No not all fat people are lazy...I was just raising a point recently that alot of people are prejudiced against fat people. AND you and your grandfather are exactly the type of people who are prejudiced.
You know you do see a lot of fat people who get winded or might be sweating when they are in what seems like a simple activity...you know why??? Because they are usually carrying around about and extra 50- 100 pounds. Why don't you go strap on a 100 pound weight bag to your back and tell me how easy it is to wear it all day...you'll find that you might sweat a little more or breathe a little harder too. You certainly better hope that you do stay trim & that your metabolism never changes and your thyroid never becomes under active...because whether or not you exercise ...these things can factor in a weight problem. AND GOD FORBID....you should ever get a disease like cnacer and should have to take steroids.....boy you will nloat up like a big ol balloon...and your personal self value will just swirl right down the drain.
The nice thing about fat people is that they might be able to find options to better them selves....too bad for you and granpa are gonna stay shallow and uneducated and lame!

Well, yes. HATE, for any reason, is a bad choice. To me, it's no different for hating people due to skin color, height, eye color or any other petty thing you can think of.
In certain cases your general opinion of the circumstances has some validity. There are some people out there that don't mind being overweight, it's part of their lifestyle - they made that choice - it's their right. But, what your basically saying is it's ok to hate you for the choices you make in your life. I don't think that's a good philosophy to have.
Then, there are some that are raised with no real knowledge of nutrition, have poor role models and are fed by a fast food society that does little or nothing to teach them about nutrition when it's needed most - when they are young. Are these people REALLY worthy of HATE? Or, would it be better to help them or at least be tolerant enough to accept that not everyone is like you?
There are also people who have real medical problems which cause weight gain. Physical limitation, glandular problems, chronic injuries, and probably many others I'm unaware of.
Some of these people that you & your Grandfather hate have done great things for this world. They have also been veterans, statesmen, physicians, scientists ... and the list goes on.
Instead of projecting hate and living with your sterotypes ... why don't you devote that energy to making the world a better place.

Yes, you are VERY wrong. Not everyone is fat because they cant put down the twinkies and dont have self control. Some people inherit obesity and they cannot help it. Other people have medical problems or HAVE to take medications to stay alive that cause weight gain. You should really rethink this whole thing.
I am not a big person and I do try to stay in shape. I dont hate fat people though. My best freind who was also a small person developed a heart condition for which she has to take steroids and other meds for. Without these meds she would DIE. I am just glad she is still alive and I love her just the way she is... overweight or not.
Think about it!

Have you ever thought that possibly that person who is overweight might also have emotional problems? I knew a girl who was very obese but she had a heart of gold. She was such a neat person and deep inside of her she didn't like the way she looked and finally lost about 100 pounds. But everyone loved her for what she was on the inside. I don't think we can judge people by how they look, rather than what is in their hearts. God made each of us with flaws, can you honestly say that you don't have any flaws? Most people who are overweight are NOT lazy! God made us to love each other and not be critical of how they look. Just because you and your grandfather have self control in the eating area, doesn't mean that all people are lacking this exercise
some are lonely and reach for food for comfort.
Hatred is a very strong emotion and will make you a very unloving person. Hatred comes from Satan so I would be very careful about hating anyone.

Actually it seems to be that your grandfather does hate them because they are fat and ugly. Why would I say that? Because if he is trying to justify his reasoning that he hates a person who is lazy and has no self control then why not hate a person if they spend too much money or drink too much. Why not hate someone for being addicted to cigarettes? There are many facets to humans and people can lose control over anything not just with food.
As for being lazy, I would think that is more of an opinion. Some people may end up gaining weight because they work too much and do not have time to take care of themselves. Working too much is not being lazy.
There are people who are lazy and skinny as well.
I wouldn't assume a person is lazy and have no self control just because they are over weight. I also would assume someone isn't lazy and in control because they are skinny.

in a way yes
you might be forgetting that some people will become obese even if they don't want to and don't eat much like if there are problems with their glands
Then there is a physiological things(did I spell that wrong??) where the only time when they feel happy is when they eat
or a genetic thing
But I have to agree that sometimes some people just don't care what they are eating or they are extremely lazy in that case... I mean eating in front of the tv set and the next thing they know is that they have drunk 5 cans of coke and ate 3 large bags of chips.
I love food alot but if I eat more than I should I just do more excercise the next day.
I eat around 1500 calories a day and work 500 calories off

I guess you are a product of your parents\family. I think it is big of you to understand that you may be wrong. I just think it's really sad that you wouldn't get to know a person inside....you can say you are, but really you are thinking about how lazy and fat they are. But you do know there are medical reasons, and other factors that cause people to be overweight, right? But let's turn the tables for a while. Not that this is true, in fact, I think completely opposite...but would it offend you if I said I thought veterans are glorified for killing innocent people? It is all the same thing. There are so many people that think our veterans and people who are fighting now, are barbarians...killing innocent people... You know the kind of person your grandfather is.....I am sure he is a stand up guy...rough around the edges, but you know where he stands....if you had a child that was on the heavy side, would he accept them? Would he love them because they are his flesh and blood, or would he hate them because of how they look? Something else to think about.

I'm going to turn this around ...
If a person doesn't have enough compassion and common sense to not judge someone on their appearance, then they deserve no respect.
In short, your grandfather is a very closed minded individual, and you're following right along in his footsteps.
Many people overeat due to personal problems, stress related issues, or a way to hide from the world. Some have no control over their weight and eat almost nothing. Some have had children and couldn't manage to lose the weight. Some suffer from diabetes and glandular problems that cause obesity. Judging everyone who's overweight by such a strict guideline only shows how narrow minded you are.

Why do people judge one another any how. My question to you is what have overweight people done to you to cause you to Hate as you say? Hating is something that is negative and out and out rude. I can't belittle you in you opinions. Because that would make me just as wrong as you. I am over weight and alot of my problems are due to a multitude of medical issues. I have a thyroid that does not function well, also I was born with feet that are as flat as boards and have had problems being able to walk, run or any thing else. I would sure love to say that I drank alot of cokes and ate a bunch of sweets. But I don't. I guess I am standing up for over weight people because I am one of those people that you have classified and nothing worth while. I read in one of the replys to your post that a fat person can be the most loving and caring person. They can be if only you give them a chance. The same thing would be do you judge a book by it cover? With out reading the entire content?
