I think James as a middle name for both girls or boys is a wonderful show of respect and honor for your husband!
I don't really care for carter too much, sorry. It reminds me of president carter.. but sweetie, this is YOUR baby..

I love the name James also. Carter James is nice for a boy. I never thought of James for a girl but not a bad idea. I am not crazy about Ali for a girl but I do like James for the middle name. What about Morgan James or as suggested by someone Alexis James? Good Luck

I absolutely love the name Carter James. Ali James for a girl is unusual, but it isn't too bad. Middle names usually don't get used a whole lot, so as she gets older, most people won't know she has a boy's name for a middle name unless she tells them. It would be a neat way to pass on your husband's middle name if you didn't have a son to give it to. People will probably have a fit when she is born and you tell them what her name is, but if you explain that she is named after your husband, they will probably back off some.

I like the idea as James for a middle name for a girl. I believe their is a model or something like that by the name James.
Let me tell you I knew a family and everyone including the girls were named Wayne. Kit Wayne (m) Kellie Wayne (f) Their initials were KWA.
Ali James, Alicia James
Carter James is nice.

Ithink it's great either way if you want her named Ali James thats not half bad and Carter James is way cute I Think and if no one else likes it then that's their opinon I will not put them down I had a friend who's dad's name was Johnny and mother was Joyce and her and mom had the middle name Elaine so she decided when she was 14 if she ever had a ittle girl she would be named Johnny Elaine and that was liked by alot of people it's all what is in your heart little momma!! congrats to you and daddy.

I like the name James. James Ryan was our boy name for my last pregnancy but we had a girl. One thing though. I always thought that it sounded better if you put the stronger sounding name first so I'd either flipflop the names and just call it by the middle name or pick different first names . Maybe do Allison James instead and call her Ali?

instead of ali try allie then she doesnt sound blokey dont use james for her middle name try jane similar to james but much more feminine
as fo carter no try james carter because james isnt a bad name but if you dont like the name james at all try jamie because the name jamie is cute and unisex
