Ionic Bonding is the result of the transfer of one or more electrons from a metal onto a non-metal.

Covalent Bonding is between non-metals and consists of two electrons shared between two atoms. The two electrons shared by the atoms are attracted to the nucleus of both atoms. Neither atom completely loses or gains electrons as in ionic bonding. However, one atom may have a more powerful electromagnetic pull on the shared electron. Covalent bonding has two varieties - polar and nonpolar bonding. Nonpolar is equal sharing, and polar is unequal sharing.

The donor atoms are positive cations and the acceptors are negative anions.

an ionic compound is a compound of a metal and a non - metal elements such as NaCl
a covalent bonded compound is a compound of 2 non - metal elemtents such as HCl
the linking force in ionic compound is much greater than in covalent bonded compound. In ionic compound the metal atoms will give all of necessary electrons to non - metal , while in covalent bonded compound the atoms share their pairs of common electrons

Ionic compounds one million- those incorporate ionic bonds. 2- those are crystalline solids having ions held at the same time in crystal lattice. 3- those are often soluble in water, whether, some having bigger lattice skill like AgCl and BaSO4 are insoluble. 4- those have bigger melting and boiling factors. 5- those habit electrical energy in fused state or in answer variety. 6- those are complicated and brittle. 7- Ionic compounds contain ionic reactions and are hence very rapid. 8- In ionic compounds bonded atoms have electronegativity distinction greater suitable than one million.7. 9- NaCl, KCl, CaO and so on. are examples. Covalent compounds one million- those incorporate covalent bonds. 2- those could properly be solids, drinks or gases. 3- Polar covalent compounds are soluble in polar solvents. Non-polar compounds are soluble in non-polar solvents. 4- those have low melting and boiling factors. 5- Neither on fusion nor on dissolution in water habit electrical energy. whether, covalent compound which ionizes in water habit electrical energy like AlCl3 (non-polar) and HCl (polar). 6- those are gentle and are broken lots conveniently. 7- Covalent compounds contain molecular reactions and are somewhat sluggish. 8- In covalent compounds bonded atoms have electronegativity distinction below one million.7. 9- C12H22O11. C6H12O6 and so on. are examples.

In ionic compounds, electrons (negative) are donated by one atom to another. The donor atoms are rendered positive (cations) and the acceptors are rendered negative (anions). The atoms are held together in crystalline arrangements by the attraction of plus and minus ions. Example: Na + Cl ===> Na+ + Cl-

Covalent compounds have electrons shared between two atoms, and the shared electron pair keeps the two atoms together. Example: CH4.
