I feel like I want to send him to a "boot camp" so he can learn discipline, respect, and appreciation, but he's not a "bad kid". His main chore is to throw the trashes in the house, but when I have to tell him more than once everyday, he comes back with yelling at me about it. I am his mother.

It's really very simple. Don't give him anything - no allowance, no rides, no friends over, no staying over at friends, etc. Just tell him that if you have to do his chores then you don't have time to do anything for him. Worked for me.

Don't let him get away with yelling at you!!!! You can't let him control your house. I wouldn't suggest sending him to boot camp, just give him a taste of what real chores are. Tell him to just do his chores and appreciate how little he has to do. If he doesn't obey you, sentence him to a week of extra chores. Trash, cleaning, dusting. Don't make him hate you, just make him realize that taking out the trash is nothing.

But most of all, don't let him run your house. You're the mom, so sometimes you have to discipline him.

Just tell him, that he is getting older and the older you are the more you have to chip in towards the running of the home, without arguements. Tell him specifically what time you want the job done and that if he does not do it he loses some priviledge (like watching tv). Also tell him the more he helps the more rights he gets in concern to going out with friends etc.

Sweetie, you stated it,"I am his mother".Exactly, tell him from the start what you expect from him.He will not be told more than once, make sure he is aware of that.If he does not follow through with what he is told to do,start taking things he likes(computer privileges, ipod, video games, etc).Thinks he likes, and enjoys on a daily basis. He loses them for the amount of time you choose,if he still fails to do his job he loses another item or privilege.Stick to your guns, because he is rebelling and trying to out do you.Show him who is the parent and who is the child.Even after he does it,do not give them back keep them for the amount of time you choose or decide on(Week, two weeks, month). That is your decision, but you have to do something that will hit him hard, without doing it literally.Him missing his favorite items will make him think twice next time.Have a good night hun,Good luck.

A black mama would whopp his butt. You could call his farther or start taking away what makes him happy. No tv,games, time outside, telephone, radio, etc. And explain to him you are in control, you pay the bills and doing chores is not an choice for him to decide on.Explain to him the things he likes to do will get taken away if he doesnt want to do his chores.
