Well whether we like it or not, most communities do. And I don't think I would like being in a community that didn't. Like you say, it's Christmas. During the rest of the year, most people have other things on their minds. But Chrsitmas is special. And I like the idea of helping others, especially families that don't have enough money to buy too many things for their children. During the course of the year, starting in about July, I watch for sales re toys and clothing, mostly for babies or small children. I mark what they are on a 3 x 5 card, put everything in boxes and on or about December 1, I start wrapping everything, Then I take it to a different church each year. I've been doing this for about 5 years. I also bake pies and cakes and use my Green Stamps to purchase free hams or turkeys or both and give them to the church.

I would have to go with Rare2find. Wheather we like it or not, they mostly do. I personaly think they should because if they didn't, poor people would think that they dont have a place in our world.

YES! one should always strive to give back to the community! However, I don't believe that this will happen in all communities. (Ex: Beverly Hills?)
