Why not? If she's qualified, it should make no difference if she's a woman or a three-headed tree sloth from Mars. We should try to elect the most qualified person to the office. All you have to do is look at the last 6 years to see what happens when the least qualified "wins." Other countries have had women leaders and haven't had disastrous results, so why not the US? Obviously the reason is quite simple: when it comes to a leader, this country is highly chauvanistic and living in - at best - the 19th century. As a result, only rich white males get the nomination and get elected. Of all the possible candidates - whether you like her as a person or not - Hillary Clinton is probably the best-qualified candidate for president. Would she get elected? Not a snowball's chance in hell. Instead, we'll wind up with the previously mentioned rich white male and life will go on. After Hillary, there aren't any truly qualified women waiting in the wings, so its now or never. Isn't it time we gave a woman a chance? She couldn't muck things up any worse than the men have!!

No the best qualified regardless of race, or gender should be the next president. If the next person running for office is the best qualified for the job and happends to be a woman then yes a woman should be the next president.

Yes I would vote for a woman U. S. President. Especially a Democrat. Many countries; third world countries have a woman head of state. Maybe she can bring about a friendlier approach to the world. At least the world may give us a chance to redeem ourselves when a woman is president.

Being a woman myself, I say no America is not ready for a woman nor a black president, it just isn't gonna happen I am not trying to be sexist or racist. This is just true fact I honestly do believe that if Clinton/Bohama ticket is in the running they will lose to a republican. being a republican most of my adult life I truly do not want another republican in office we need to wash the whole mess out of there. little W F***ed this country up on his own agenda. he run so many oil businesses daddy gave him that he is doing the same with this country! he can f with us all he wants not with his sadistic ways he doesn't have to run again. They did say that the anti-Christ was walking among us I am starting to believe it.

The next president should be the best person possible for the job. I don't really care about the gender, just the ability to do a good job.

Yes. This country needs someone with a low testosterone level to keep us out of wars, for one thing. If there's one thing a woman does well, it's talk her way through a problem. Most men would just give up and say, ah the h with it, have it your way. For another, it would show middle-eastern women that their place is not hiding in a burka and following ten feet behind, it's living their lives in this world as individuals, not appendages to their husbands.

I think that a woman president would be alright for America. I mean it works in other countries so why not America. But if that woman is Hilary Clinton then I think it is a very bad idea.
