Do you think that this would affect the proportions of these blood types in the populations the same way that exposure to infectious diseases do? Why or why not?

No he can not.

The alleles for blood types A and B are co-dominant, so a man with blood type AB can ONLY have the Genotype AB.

Therefore, he can only pass on an A or a B to his child.

In order for a kid to have type O blood, he has to receive neither the A or B allele from both parents.

Since it is impossible for the kid to not receive an A or B from his father, it is impossible for him to have O blood.

No- AB is a dominant blood type, meaning that even if his spouse has 0 blood type (which is recessive) his child will have AB blood because the AB will 'triumph' over the O.

no, v_dawg has it right. type O blood is recessive to the co-dominant A and B types. so a man with type AB blood could never have a child with type O blood

no because AB is codominant and the O type is recessive. if he were to reproduce, the only genotypes that he can pass on are either A or B. even if he had a child with a woman who was O, the child would have either A,B, or AB blood types. you can do a simple cross (punnett square) between these types to see how this works:
A B
i Ai Bi
i Ai Bi

i'm not a doc..but i think yes because AB blood type contain AA,AO,BB,BO...if your wife is AB blood type or A,B and O ,there are still have a posiblity to have a child with O blood type.Because O is a dominan...i think so....

No, because the alleles he carries (A and B) are dominant over the O allele and his children could therefore be anything BUT type O.
