I got a $1500 check to cash only if i wanted to start up with them, but how do I know if it isn't a scam?

check the fine print, make sure if you cash it that you will not be obligated to pay anything in the future, take it to the bank, see if the bank will even cash it for you.
If there is a phone number or adress check with you local branch of the better business bureal

Sounds like a scam. Typically, if a job sounds too good to be true, it is! Especially if they are contacting you for a job instead of you contacting them - they are probably not a legit company.

if they dont ask for your numbers, such as social security, bank accounts, you should be ok. make sure to ask what they expect out of you. if you feel uncomfortable with it, tear up the check
